My Sister and Her Family

This should catch me all up. I recently took some pictures of my sister and her cute family. Her fiance is in the air force and was here on a month leave so we had to get some of them before he left. There is this old phone booth that I had been dying to do a photo shoot in. They were up for it and I think we got some great pictures.

My mom gets Married!

My mom got married in January and I was able to take a few photos of her and her new husband. It was freezing outside so we only get a few. Here is my favorite one.

While I still had my photo stuff up my friend brought over her little boy to get his Christmas pictures done. I think I had my photography stuff up in our dining room for a month! Her little boy is so cute and so full of energy. We had a tough time getting him to smile but managed a few. We also went to my new favorite location (you'll notice it a few times the cute red shed) for a few family photos.

While I still had all my photo stuff up I took some pictures of my sisters little boy for his first Christmas photos. He is growing up so fast and was so cute and so much easier to get photos of then the twins. They like to move and run away, he just sat there in his cute little elf clothes.

I wasn't planning on it and you can tell because Jaelee's hair is not done and she has her brothers shirt on. This little girl and her mom and dad are the cutest little family. We took their pictures just before Christmas, it was really cold and shortly after the outside pictures were taken it started to rain hard. I am glad we got these pictures before the rain came because they turned out great.

Fall Family Photos

I got the family ready in our plaid and we headed out to the river to take some photos. It was really cold especially since I decided to be by the water!

It is always interested taking our photos. I get everything set up pose Greg and the kids and I set the timer and then run over to get in the picture. We have been lucky enough that we've always had a least one good photo. So here are a few from this fall.

My Best Friend Gets Engaged

Wow has it really been since October since I have posted anything? I have been busy taking pictures but not good at posting them.

My last post was about my best friend getting married. This one is about my other best friend getting engaged. Woo Hoo. She is getting married in Hawaii in a month!

One of my very best friends got married a couple of weeks ago and while she was here visiting from Washington I just had to get some photos of her and her new hubby. I have to say I love the fall colors. If only it would stay this colorful all year long.

I decided that it was time I get some photos of my family together. My brother is moving to Utah and my sister will be moving to Florida in June. I didn't know when we would all be together again so I wanted to make sure and get some photos of all of us. We went out to Celebration Park to take the pics. The twins were not really cooperating but we still managed to get a few good ones.

It was fun getting to drive around where I went to high school and walking around the new school. Together Forever

My grandparents will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5th. I was lucky enough to take some pictures of them to celebrate and announce 60 years of marriage. It is inspiring to see 2 people married 60 years.

We went out to a beautiful home in Murphy on the Snake River. My grandma was walking through the grass and rocks with high heels on! I can't even wear those anymore. Way to go Grandma! And my grandpa wore his suit jacket in 90+ weather. These two are awesome and I am so glad I got to be a part of documenting this moment with them.

I didn't need another reason to have another kid but then I met "B" and he was so adorable with his bright blue eyes and blond hair it made me think I wanted another one. He was one of the sweetest and easiest babies to photograph. I put my camera up and he would look right at me. The first photo I took of this sweet boy looked great. I met him and his parents at the Boise depot. They wanted to meet there because they had this hat that was passed down by grandpa. The hat was 50 years old! They even got some overalls to match the hat! I haven't even had a chance to go through all the photos yet and all ready had some I had to post of this cute boy & his parents. Thank you guys for such a fun time. You have a beautiful family.

Fix it Friday

It has been a long time since I have participated in a Fix it Friday at http://www.iheartfaces.com/ but this was such a great photo and I love senior portraits so I thought I would give it a try.

I did all of my edits in Photoshop CS2
First I LOVE color so I ran Pioneer Womans action Fresh & Colorful, then I adjusted my color balance and added some red and removed some blue.
I than ran the Pioneer Womans action Lovely & Ethereal.
I added a sunshine in the left corner.
I sharpened slightly and then cropped.

I couldn't resist doing an few other edits so I also did a black and white version and a seventies version.

"K"'s Maternity Pics

My sister had her baby June 14th and he is so precious. I couldn't wait to take photos of him. It was a challenge he pooped all over me and my props so we had to end it while I washed everything. Then he was wide awake and didn't want to sleep. And finally on our third attempt he pooped again but we still managed to get some great photos. I love this little guy and his mom. This weeks challenge at iheartfaces is to show off playing. I have 100's of photos of my kids playing. I decided to enter this one from memorial weekend. We went camping and the weather had just been awful with rain, no sun and wind. We woke up one morning and the weather was finally nice! Before we could even get our twins dressed they were out by the water playing in it with their jammies and slippers on.

Week 22 - "Barefoot Week" Photo Challenge!

I have not participated in an I ♥ Faces photo challenge for a while but when I saw this week was about feet and shoes I had the perfect photo. I love that it is helping raise awareness for Soles 4 Souls. I just took this picture of my twins for their 2 year old photos. They both had their hands in their pockets and were sporting their new outfits and shoes and I thought it was so cute.

I have been MIA for a while. My daughter broke her leg and a lot has just been going on. I have still been taking a lot of photos and am going to attempt to get updated. I took a few photos of my brother during Easter here are a few of my favorites.

Week 6 - “We Heart Kisses” Photo Challenge!

I realized right before I was about to upload this photo that to some it might look like the dog has bitten him and he is screaming but it's the way my son gives kisses. He likes to give the dog kisses and he lets the dog lick his face. I personally do not like the doggy kisses on my face but he likes it.

February Special

It has been a while since I have done a special because I have been in the winter blues. And now I have spring fever bad. I am so ready for the weather to get warm again and be sunny. I miss shooting photos outside in the natural light. I leave for work and come home from work in the dark and I am tired of it! So to get me in better spirits I want to do more of what I love (which is taking photos) so for the month of February the special is for children 3 and under. It is an indoor session at my home because the weather is still just too darn cold. You get the session and all the images edited and put on a CD for $50. Week 4 - “Texture” Photo Challenge!

This weeks challenge I was not sure I would be able to come up with anything. I asked my hubs if he would let me take a few pictures of him (not usually a willing participant) and he said yes! I had heard about this old prison farm and wanted to go and check it out. I thought I might be able to find some cool textures in nature to photograph around. I did but it was kind of muddy so I took a few shots of hubs, kids and our dog. I didn't get the texture picture I was looking for so I found some cool textures and added them to this photo. I have never really used textures but they could become addicting.

While I was trying to take his picture my daughter walked through our photo and I snapped one picture of her and it happened to be my favorite. I got this great tip from another local photographer on this red wall downtown. I LOVE red so I got the kids all bundled up and we went downtown to check it out. On the way there Jayse feel asleep and I didn't want to wake him so I took a few pictures of Jaelee and then we booked it back into the car because it was freezing!

Week1: An "I Heart Faces" Photo Challenge!

First congrats to i ♥ faces on their one year celebration. This week I wanted to come up with something really creative for this challenge but then my son and I got really sick with a cold and I just didn't feel like doing much of anything. I managed to get the i ♥ faces logo printed, cut out and taped onto some of my kids blocks. I then took my daughter out into our backyard and got a few photos. I look forward to seeing everyone entries.

I took this photo last weekend and just photoshopped in the logo.

Week 51 - "Hilarious Outtakes" Photo Challenge

This weeks challenge over at i ♥ faces is hilarious outtakes. I love this theme. I usually erase a lot of my outtakes but when I started to go through my pictures I realized I still have a bunch and then it was hard to narrow it down, luckily this week we get to post up to 5 pictures.

This is my daughter when she was about 7 months old. Her hair stood straight up it was so funny. I kind of miss that static look. This expression is just so funny.

We were playing on the trampoline this summer and I was taking pictures of the twins of course. Jayse got really close to my camera and gave me this face. It instantly became one of my favorites.

I wanted to get a picture of the twins in overalls in this bucket. I set them in there and could not get them to smile. This outtake turned into one of my favorite photos.

I was trying to get a picture of my daughter in this chair and for the most part she did pretty well until the end she just would not stay in it and laid on the ground.

This is our visit to Santa this year. I knew the twins would probably cry but I expected nothing like this. We sat Jaelee on Santa and she was ok there, she didn't like it but she was ok. Then we tried to put Jayse on Santa - he started kicking, screaming and rearing back. Santa told us he could not sit on his lap because he was kicking too much. Once Jaelee saw his reaction she had enough and got down. Greg tried to keep Jayse by Santa so I could just get one picture and here it is.

H's Christmas Photo Shoot

This little guy is just simply adorable, I'm not even finished editing all his photos but I had to hurry and get some posted because he is so stinkin cute. His mom and I were pregnant with our kiddos at the same time, they were born only 2 weeks apart. I have been taking photos of him since he was a baby and he is now a year and half old - I can't believe how fast time goes! It was difficult to get him to stay put, he is a little adventurer/monkey - he climbs on everything. When we did get him to stay put he would not smile for us. Towards the end though all the sudden he sat on the present props and smiled - it was awesome to get a few cute pictures of him smiling. I had a lot of fun seeing little H and his family.

Week 49 - “Pets Only!” Photo Challenge

Now to my entry of course I had to enter in our adorable dog Bo. I had a hard time choosing the photo because I have a lot of cute photos of Bo with our kids but I settled on this one so he could have this photo moment all to him self. He really is the perfect dog for our family. He has been a great hunting companion for Greg and a great friend and protector for the kids. He is calm, lovable, adorable, and just plain fun. We love you Bo!

Fix it Friday

I love this weeks photo over at i ♥ faces , it reminded me of high school. In art class every year our school and many others entered into a poster contest for one of the local rodeos. We would scour over images like this of cowboys riding bulls, horses and wrestling steer - then we would put the image on canvas and paint it. The winning painting became that years poster. I never won the poster but one of my paintings did get chosen for that years childrens tee shirts and I was featured on the front page of the local newspaper. Ahh memories...anyway I thought this photo was pretty great all ready. I played with cropping it but in the end I liked the original crop. I wanted to keep my edits simple and not over do it so I just adjusted the levels, curve, added some saturation, sharpened a bit and added a vignette.

O Christmas Tree

We put our Christmas Tree up this weekend and I thought it would be a great backdrop for the Christmas pictures of the twins. It turned out to be a great backdrop but they were very difficult to photograph. To get them to sit in one place is hard but to get them both to is even harder. I found this rocking horse at a yard sale this summer and it was great because they couldn't get off of it.

Two Face & Slim

There is this place I have been dying to take pictures at. It has a bunch of old cars in front of a 100 year old abandon school building and it would be a perfect background for pictures, especially for my sister B because she is not a girly girl and needs a cool background. Well yesterday we decided to go try out this place. I have been by there several times and always noticed there was a dog out front so when we got there I was too scared to go into the yard but my sister has always been good with animals so it didn't scare her. She got out of the truck and walked up to the dog - it was friendly so J my sisters best friend and I got out of the truck. We yelled out to see if anyone was there but didn't hear anything so we went next to this truck and I took a picture of my sister.

After that one picture we heard a dog barking from inside the school and then we heard someones voice. We were a little scared and my sister and her friend J started to run back to the truck when we heard a door opening, out came another dog and an old man. We told him that we were there to take some pictures in front of the cars and asked him if that would be ok, he said it was fine but mumbled something about staying away from the road because of the police. We made small chit chat about how interesting all the cars were. He told us that he had some really interesting cars in the back of the school. We followed him back there and saw this really cool 1960 something car - I'm not really a car person so I don't remember what it was. At this point the two dogs had started to fight with each other. I mean fight like I have never seen before, they were tearing each other apart. We didn't know what to do the old man told us that if we tried to break them apart with ourselves the dogs might turn on us so we just sat there and watched these dogs fight. He picked up a wood stick and started to hit one of the dogs - we didn't like it but we didn't know what else there was to do. The dogs didn't stop fighting and the old man said that if we walked off they would stop but just then he started to get something out of his pocket and bent over and a gun fell out. Of course this scared us and B & J started to run towards the front of the school. I just slowly turned around and headed towards the front as he picked up the gun and put it back in his pocket. We waited in the front and finally the old man came back and the dogs were done fighting. We continued to talk to him for a while and found out his name was Slim and his dogs name was Two Face. The other dog was dropped off at his place this summer by somebody and he didn't know what to do with it and asked if we knew of anyone that wanted a guard dog - unfortunately we don't. We also learned that he is in bad health and that his dog Two Face was very dear to him and he had had him since he was a pup. After all the commotion we decided to leave with out taking anymore pictures but promised to come back. We are going to go back and visit Slim next week.

Senior Photos of my little Bro "H"

I took Senior Photos of my little brother and he is so much fun to photograph. He has a great smile and is photogenic - and he loves his picture taken! We found a great new spot for photos. I love the colors - great for fall. I think I might take my fam back to that spot for some new family photos. There are so many I like it was hard to just post a few of them but here they are...

Sneak Peak of Cute Little "K"

I had a fun time photographying "K". She is my cousins daughter and we have made it a tradition for me to photograph her girls on their 11th birthday. "K" was so nervous. It was cute because normally she is a talkative bubbly little thing. We had a lot of fun. We went to some train tracks in Kuna and while we were trying to take pictures not one but two trains came by. We hurried and got the train track pictures and moved on. Luckily we got the pictures taken before this cold weather has moved in. Here is a peak at some of my favorites. Happy Birthday "K"!

September Special

I just got back from vacation and am ready to take some more pictures!! I had so much fun taking children photos last month that I decided that is this months special. So for the month of September the session fee is free (this is for one child, sorry but it just gets harder with the more children there are) photos after the first free child are a great deal though, it would be $20 for each additional child. We can take the photos outside while the weather is still warm or we can do some indoors at my home, I have a lot of fun back drops & props. I had a great time taking Holden's one year photos. He has a lot of energy and just wanted to run around the park. After we had taken a few photos of him we were walking to our next spot and he fell and hit his head on the sidewalk, leaving a big bruise right in the middle of his forehead. We were able to keep shooting and got some great pictures of this adorable guy! Here are a few of my favorites.
